Step outside and look around. The world is teaming with beauty and color. From the dragonflies' wings to the seashells at the beach, there is radiance and glow to the life around us.
As ordinary people we have traveled the world and stood in extraordinary places; our breath taken away as we experience the beauty of untainted landscape.

As ordinary people we have traveled the world and stood in extraordinary places; our breath taken away as we experience the beauty of untainted landscape. As artists we have returned from those places longing to recreate what we’ve seen with our eyes, with our hands.
In our art you will find us reminiscing about our trips to Lake Arrowhead when fresh snow had fallen and the pines stood silent and still.
You will see the colors of the pebbles we would find at Moonstone Beach, a haven of a place we frequented to get away from the busyness of everyday life. And the sunsets in California that kiss the sky with warmth and happiness.
We hope that adding pieces of our art to your home will bring you joy and take you to your own extraordinary places of beauty and tranquility.

I learned the art of ceramics when I was 15 years old, in a high school class. However, my life's journey took me down a completely different path, which included college, marriage, two children, and a successful commercial photography business with my husband.
In 2008, my wonderful life was shattered when our 12 year old son was killed in a freak zip line accident at a youth camp. As you might imagine, the pain and the grief were almost too much to bear and we barely survived the loss of our sweet boy, Zachary!
We knew that our life would never be the same so we made some huge changes.
We sold our business and eventually started traveling the world with an organization that helped people in need in mostly third world countries. We spent time in Guatemala, Cambodia, and Thailand and were forever changed by the experiences and people we met there.
In 2015 we settled down in Southern California after our daughter married and had her first child, Zoe. This name means LIFE in Greek, and my husband and I both felt that we had finally rediscovered our LIFE again.
I decided that I needed a hobby or some sort of purpose to my life so I decided to try pottery again. I took a private class to see if I still liked it, and I did! So, I bought a wheel, a kiln, some tools and way too my glazes, and set up a small studio in my house! I watched videos, read books, and through trial and error I learned how to create pots!
After about two years, I was creating planters, bowls, vases and mugs that my friends and family thought looked good enough to sell. We decided to move to Fallbrook to be close to my aging mother and to buy a house with a workshop or two, The rest of the story continues in the next section.
My husband, Shawn, and I started Timber, Love & Clay, Inc. in 2017 as a new business venture. Shawn was going to build acoustic guitars (under the name of Zoe Guitars) in addition to creating unique wood products to accompany my pottery. My husband, Shawn, and I started Timber, Love & Clay, Inc. in 2017 as a new business venture. Shawn was going to build acoustic guitars (under the name of Zoe Guitars) in addition to creating unique wood products to accompany my pottery. He made wine glasses, wood stands, trays and trees to go with my wine chillers, vases, mugs and ceramic ornaments. We thought the combination of wood and pottery was unique and beautiful!
However, after a couple of years, it became clear that customers preferred the pottery by itself AND Shawn needed to spend all of his working time on guitars. So, I slowly phased out the wood products and focused solely on ceramic art, with a speciality of ocean pottery and nature pottery.
We worked out of our home workshops in Fallbrook for three years. We attended local art shows together as Timber, Love & Clay and people seemed to love our booth's unique combination of guitars and pottery.
In June of 2021, we decided to move to Oceanside! We leased a commercial space about five minutes from the beach where we both work now. Shawn has more than double the room he had before and we both have a showroom where we can sell our products.
I decided to obtain a DBA for Oceanside Ceramics since the name makes so much more sense than Timber, Love & Clay. The majority of my pieces have an ocean theme and we are now located in the city of Oceanside. .
Thank you everyone who supported my business over the past seven years! It has been a wonderful journey and I couldn't have done it without the encouragement and appreciation of all of my in-person and on-line customers.
