Why do I make Urns?

If you are reading this because you have experienced a death in your family, I truly am sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one is one the most difficult experiences in life!

Unfortunately, I have lots of personal experience with grief and pain, having lost my 12 year old son, both of my in-laws, my mother and father, and many beloved pets throughout my life. There were definitely times when I honestly didn't think I could survive the agony of loss! However, I sometimes felt a bit more peace and hope when I went outside and watched a beautiful sunset, or gazed at the vast ocean, or hiked up a majestic mountain.

So, after a few years of creating planters, vases, bowls and mugs, a customer asked me if I made cremation urns. I decided to give it a try, and soon found out that people really loved my beautiful glaze combinations on my "non-urn-like" pieces. They also liked the simplicity of the natural cork lids. Each urn I create is a one-of-a-kind, hand crafted, unique piece of art, reflecting the wonder and beauty of nature!  It is my hope that somehow my urns can bring comfort and peace into each customer's life.

I feel an incredible amount of compassion and often have an immediate personal connection with many of my urn customers! I am honored to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind urns to be a resting place for a loved one!

It is truly an honor for me to make something so incredibly meaningful and special with my own hands. I treasure the new relationships I have with customers who have ordered urns for ashes from me and have shared their thoughts and feelings about their grief.

I currently sell ready-to-ship urns and custom, made-to-order urns on Etsy and also in person at my Oceanside, California shop.

Please send me a message if you have any questions.

Every Life is A Work Of Art

I believe that every life is a unique and beautiful work of art which is why I create each of my urns one-at-a-time as an individual artistic masterpiece. I also believe that the beauty in nature can inspire and comfort us, which is why I try to create glaze combinations that look like the many colors of the oceans and beaches that so many of us love.

My wheel thrown ceramic urns come in a variety of different sizes and shapes and are designed to accommodate the ashes of a beloved family member or pet.
